I want to try out climbing. What should I do?

If you have no previous experience  climbing we will gladly help you!
You can book a Trial course with our instructors, or if you are over 15 years of age you can book a Top Rope course. The Top rope course will teach you how to belay so that you can do the test for the “Green card”.

To book a course, please call us on 08-641 10 48.

You can also come and try out bouldering. Bouldering is climbing without a rope, on smaller walls with mattresses undeneath. As an adult, you do not need the Green card for bouldering. However, children under the age of 13 need to be supervised by an adult with the Green card.

My children want to try out climbing. What should I do?

We recommend you book either a Trial Course, or a Family Course. In the Family Course all adults will learn how to belay and the children will be able to climb.
For adults, the Family Course is equivalent to a Top Rope Course and after the course the adults can do the test for the Green card.

On weekends we also have Trial Courses at 12:00, and 13:30 to cheaper prices. Please book in advance or take your chances and just drop in.

What is the “Green Card”?

The Green card is a license for indoor climbing. It can only be handed out by an authorized instructor from the Swedish Climbing Federation. The green card means you have completed the theoretical and practical tests in an “uppklättring”. The test for the green card.

Do I need the Green card to belay in Klätterverket?

Yes. Everyone that belays at Klätterverket needs the green card, visible on their harness. If you do not have the green card you need to do an “uppklättring” which is a theoretical and practical test where you need to show that you can belay properly.

If you do not know how to belay, we recommend our Top Rope course, or family course where we will teach you everything you need to know.

I have a Green card. Can I bring my friend who does not have one to try out climbing?

Yes. You do not need the green card for climbing, however you need it for belaying.

What type of clothes should I wear for climbing?

You can climb in any type of clothes but we recommend something that is easy to move in. Bring the same clothes as you would to the gym, or when you go for a run.

Do you have locker rooms and showers?

Yes. Bring your own padlock or borrow one from the reception.
We also have saunas in both the mens and womens locker rooms.
